RAF CAREERS SOUTH WALES COUNTY SCHOOL GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP

On Sunday 7th December, Swansea Sports Village hosted the first ever RAF Careers South Wales County School Girls Championship. The competition involved six county teams at both U14 and U16 level. Blue skies and frosty pitches welcomed 200 players, county coaches and scores of parents to a day of what turned out to be fantastic and exciting hockey.

After 14 matches having been played, the Champions were Afan Nedd Tawe, coached by Chloe Guy, who won the U14 title and Cardiff & Vale, coached by Jon Elliot, the U16 title.

Players also had the chance to talk to Flight Lieutenant Tracy Butler who was representing RAF Careers, sponsors of Youth Hockey in Wales.

Special thanks to Don Adams and the umpires and Jane Price who was instrumental in the organisation and running of the event.
