COMPETITIONS 2009/10

U-16 GIRLS v SCOTLAND

2nd – 4th April 2010

Friday 2nd April

Wales 1 – Scotland 5

For many of the young players in the Wales U16 Girls' side this was their first International Hockey Match. Wales began very well scoring a left post deflection goal through Alys Smith. However our excellent start soon disappeared, with Scotland equalising fast. Scotland stepped up their physicality and performance and scored another two goals before half time. The end of the first half imitated the second half with Scotland scoring another two goals. This performance left the management and players very disappointed with the first test against Scotland.

Saturday 3rd April

Wales 1 – Scotland 4

After some discussion on their performance on the Friday evening, Wales started the first half brightly really stepping up to the physicality of Scotland. Harriet Davies scored a superb goal. Wales were fully in the game during the first half. However the second half was very different. Scotland finished their chances well.

Sunday 4th April

Wales 0 – Scotland 2

The first half started with Wales attempting to find their feet. Scotland took their chances and saw themselves two goals up at half time. The first half saw Wales with many chances to score, however chances were not taken. The second half performance for Wales was an excellent way to finish the weekend. The players were physical playing the best hockey we had seen from them. The management team were very proud of the performance.

The Management Team would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents of the players' who travelled to Wrexham to support us. The support was extremely motivating to the players. We look forward to our next camp in May at Swansea.
