The Welsh Hockey Union actively encourages organisations to enter into partnership agreements wherein each partner can realise an agreed set of objectives. Welsh Hockey places particular emphasis on obtaining benefits for grass roots development. This allows Welsh Hockey to develop the sport amongst young people and provides an opportunity for any qualifying partnership agreement to be submitted for a Sportsmatch Award.
The Welsh Hockey Union is very aware that for a partnership to be successful, each partner must be able to achieve its agreed objectives.
All partnerships established ideally address the objectives set out in the Welsh Hockey Strategy "Creating the Goal".
