About Men's International Playing Records

A database is maintained that holds all the known information about the matches played by Welsh Men’s International Teams at every level.

Information is held about all matches and all players that participated at every level.

The Welsh Men’s Teams have been playing International Hockey since 1895, most people are already aware that the World’s first International Hockey Match took place between Wales and Ireland at Rhyl in North Wales on 26^th January 1895, Ireland winning 3 – 0.

Selected information from the database is published on this Web Site, further selected information will be published at intervals.

It is hoped that at some time in the relatively near future it will be possible to have ad-hoc requests for information satisfied on-line.

The information held is available to any player that wishes to have a copy of his playing record or any club that wishes to have a record of its players that have represented Wales.

Players and former players and / or their families or clubs are requested to contact the Webmaster at:

Please make your request clear and you will receive an email with an attachment normally in Microsoft Word format detailing the relevant playing records.   Those people who do not have email facilities can receive a print out of their request by writing to the Welsh Hockey Union, 80 Woodville Road, Cardiff, CF24 4ED.

Whilst the database contains all known information about the Men’s Playing Records, it is still not 100% complete when you consider it covers over 106 years of International Hockey.    Help is needed to complete those records!

Former International Players or their families are invited to forward significant biographical details to help complete the archived records.
