WHU on air!

The WHU were promoting hockey on FM Radio earlier this week. Mike Leatt, Chris Brewer and Beth Fisher had a live spot on Calon FM in Wrexham primarily to start the ball rolling for the 2009 Hockey EuroNations to be held there 1-8 August next year. It was also a great opportunity to publicise this week-end’s Under 16 Girls Internationals against Scotland at NEWI.

The Radio interview came after a very positive meeting that morning with Alan Watkin and his team from Wrexham Council about preparations for 2009. Part of that discussion included putting in place a Hockey Youth Centre based at NEWI to give the many primary school hockey players an active focus to move on to.

Other areas of discussion included marketing the event in North Wales, the potential commercial opportunities and the recruitment of volunteers.
