COACHING

Good coaches are vital to the development of hockey in Wales. At the WHU, we run an increasing number of Coaching Events every year. Some are formal courses that lead to qualifications whilst some are designed to help coaches develop their knowledge and skills in particular areas of the game.

We have now completed the design of an exciting new range of coaching qualifications and courses in partnership with England Hockey and the Scottish Hockey Union. These Awards have been designed to meet the demanding requirements of the new United Kingdom Coaching Certificate.

We now have a fully staffed Coaching unit whose sole task is to increase the number and standard of coaches working at all levels throughout the hockey community in Wales.

WHU National Coaching Strategy
The WHU National Coaching Strategy is now available for download. The document, written by Coaching Manager Chris Marriott, maps out the future direction of coach education and development for hockey in Wales.
