Following an open recruitment process, the Great
Britain Olympic Hockey Ltd (GBOHL) Board is
delighted to announce that at their meeting on
3rd July, David Collier and Bryn Williams were
selected as Independent Directors. The new
appointments were made as part of the recent
restructure of GBOHL and the exchange of the
"Business and Framework Agreement" between GBOHL
and the Member Associations of England, Scotland
and Wales.
Roger Self, President of GBOHL said "Following
our advertisements we received quality
applications from many candidates. Such a
response augurs well for our long term
objectives to support the delivery of 2012 as
there was clear evidence that people have much
enthusiasm and are prepared to give a voluntary
commitment to hockey in Britain."
Both David and Bryn are former hockey players,
are passionate about the sport and bring with
them a wealth of successful business experience
which will be invaluable to the Board.
David Collier brings a great deal of varied
corporate experience and is currently the Chief
Executive of the England and Wales Cricket
Board. David is also a member of various
committees for the European Hockey Federation (FEH)
and the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
Bryn Williams is a Chartered Accountant by
profession and after his international
commitments playing for Wales and Great Britain,
he has concentrated the last 20 years on his
business interests and the development of his
own group of companies.
Self added "We look forward to working with them
and are delighted to welcome them to the Board".
