WALES UNDER 18 BOYS GET OFF
TO WINNING START IN EUROPEAN TROPHY
At the Under 18’s Boys European Hockey Youth Trophy in Rakovnik
in the Czech Republic, Wales got off to winning start by beating
their Italian opponents 2 – 0. A second half penalty corner goal
on 40 minutes from Huw Stevens gave the Welsh team the lead and
a last minute penalty corner goal from Nick Rees secured the
victory. Coach Ian Ord said “I am happy with the result after a
steady performance from the boys”.
Wales’s next opponents in the four team group will be France who
in today’s other game thrashed Portugal 9 -2.
