Newsroom > 11th December 2006 WHU NEWS ROOM... 11th December 2006 After opening their account with a comprehensive defeat of Newport 17-0, Swansea Bay were always going to take some stopping in their pool with only Wrexham running them close in loosing 2-4. In the second pool, the majority of matches were a lot closer with the pick being Cardiff’s 4-3 victory over close rivals Whitchurch. Whitchurch ‘blooded’ a few new young players which augurs well for their future but the skill and determination from New Zealand international Bevan Hari and Welsh international Mark Ramage saw them home. Northop Hall also ran both teams close in loosing 5-6 to Whitchurch and 3-5 to Cardiff.
The ‘Bay’ now qualify for the European Club Indoor tournament for
next season with the squad already due to play in this season’s
tournament in Budapest in February. POOL A
