EuroHockey Cup Winners Challenge (Men)
Swansea v Olimpik Vinnytsy (UCR) 1-1
In
their second match in Portugal, Swansea Bay came
across an extremely uncompromising Olimpik
Vinnytsy (UCR) and after Micky Hannon suffered a
broken shoulder trailed 1-0 at half time.
Despite the opposition continuing their tactics
(which eventually tallied four yellow and one
red card), Swansea came out in the second half
with the will to get a result. Within 7 mins of
the restart Nick Rees picked up a great through
ball and had his stick take away in front of
goal winning a penalty flick which was converted
by Tom Vinney. Both teams had their chances to
win but with a final score of 1-1 Swansea have a
great chance of progressing to the promotion
matches on Monday.
