Another UKCC Level 1 Hockey Coaching Course completed!

Saturday 30th November saw the completion of the UKCC Level 1 Hockey Coaching course being held at the new Cardiff International Sports Stadium on Leckwith Road.

A total of 19 candidates attended the course which runs over an evening and two full days. The Level 1 course qualifies candidates to become an assistant coach and covers many aspects of the game from warm ups to moving with the ball to goal scoring and small game play. Congratulations to all candidates who attended and passed the assessment to become an assistant coach.

The Cardiff course is the third course that has been completed this season, with two other courses already been run in Bangor and Aberystwyth. This Thursday (4th December) sees the start of the Level 1 at Mold Sports Centre. Another Level 1 course in Bangor has also been arranged for 5th, 8th and 15th February 2009. If you are interested in attending a Level 1 course please download an application form from the ‘calendar of coaching events’ which can be found under the ‘coaching section’ of our website.

The WHU Coaching Unit also plan to run a further two Level 1 course this season in Swansea and Abergavenny – details will follow shortly! If you have completed the Level 1 course and are looking to further your knowledge on coaching hockey and become a head coach, then there are two Level 2 courses planned for May/June 2009 in Cardiff and Wrexham – details to follow.
