Whitchurch go down to Exeter
University in EHL

Whitchurch lost 4-2 to 2nd placed Exeter University in their latest Slazenger EHL contest.  In an evenly matched first half both teams attacked with confidence and created chances, but it was the students, breaking in numbers, who opened the scoring midway through the half and then finished off a fine move a minute before the interval to take a 2-0 lead.   Exeter started the second period in dominant form and stretched their lead to 4-0 before a spirited fight back from Whitchurch in the last quarter pinned the students back in defence, a penalty corner conversion from Joe Naughalty and an open play goal from Laith El Khatib reducing the deficit. Whitchurch remain in 8th place in the table and entertain top of the table Sevenoaks this coming Sunday (1.30 start at the Welsh Institute of Sport).
