Whitchurch go down to Exeter
University in EHL

Whitchurch went down 2-0 to league leaders Sevenoaks in their latest Slazenger EHL contest on 17th February, both goals conceded late in the game
.  Sevenoaks created the better chances in the first half, but some determined defending from Whitchurch kept the skilful visitors at bay.  Sevenoaks have the meanest defence in the division but Whitchurch created chances of their own with strong attacking play from Neil Potter, Joe Naughalty and Mark Whatling.  Whitchurch came into their own in the second period, enjoying good possession, winning the penalty corner count and creating chances but the Sevenoaks defence stood firm.  A valuable point was in prospect as the half wore on but with just ten minutes remaining Whitchurch conceded only their second penalty corner and Pete Turner converted for the visitors.  Whitchurch pressed forward and went close to equalising, but a swift breakaway from Sevenoaks led to a goalmouth scramble and George Torry fired home from the edge of the circle to make the game safe for the league leaders.  Whitchurch remain in eighth place in the table, level on points with Bromley & Beckenham, who they visit this coming Saturday in a crucial match..
