Any club or school looking to employ a coach (paid or voluntary) must ensure that references are taken up (verbally and written), a clear Enhanced CRB check is obtained, qualifications and insurance are checked before any coach commences work.

 

WSA/scUK/SCW require a Coaching Officer

A new partnership between sports coach UK, Sports Council Wales and the Welsh Sports Association has led to an exciting opportunity for the employment of a generic coaching officer to work with a number of identified Welsh NGB’s to assist them with the development of coaching.

WHU and RCT - Community Coach wanted

The Welsh Hockey Union (WHU) and Rhondda Cynon Taff's (RCT) Sports Development Unit are looking for a hockey coach to work as part of the new Hockey Community Coach Scheme.

The project which is jointly funded and managed by WHU and RCT will develop links between schools in the Treorchy area of RCT to develop a new youth hockey club for boys and girls wishing to get more involved.

We are looking for a level 2 coach (or working towards their level 2) for 4 -5 hours per week for an 18 month period. As a coach you must be dynamic, exciting and player centered. You will have experience of working with primary and secondary aged players and be passionate about developing hockey. As well as your level 2 qualification* you will ideally also be First Aid trained and have attended a relevant child protection workshop.
