Whilst continuing to recognise coaching awards gained prior to the introduction of the new UKCC qualifications, we are strongly recommending that coaches take the opportunity to gain these formal qualifications. The new UKCC Hockey Coaching qualifications are now nationally recognised and are the training standards that clubs, schools, Unitary Authorities and in many cases insurers require. In the same way that holders of ‘old’ WHU Coaching Awards worked hard to pass their award, we have worked hard to devise a fair and common sense approach to allow coaches to update with reduced costs and contact time.
