Day 1 (Match 1)
Penarth v Cascais
The host club started their campaign at a fast and furious pace ,which was matched by the Welsh girls the Portuguese were attacking from the start with several sorties into the Welsh circle, but it was a break away goal after a Welsh attack that opened the score for the home team. Within minutes Penarth levelled the score with a goal from Pip Laugharne following pressure of their own.

The second period brought a more sustained effort from the home side but the Penarth defence held, it was all the more disappointing that the home team took the lead with little time remaining after Penarth had had the most attacking period of the half. Final score Cascais 2, Penarth 1.

Day 1 (Match 2)
Penarth v Cankaya
This was a very diferent game with Penarth making all the running, and taking the game to Cankaya , Pip Laugharne opened the scoring with a well deflected goal after a quick interchange of passes by the Penarth girls. Sian Baldwin made it 2 stepping up to the penalty spot to confidently slot one in after some poor defending by the Turkish girls.
A break away goal reduced the Welsh girls lead to one at half time.

A very determined Penarth continued to press in the second half and Pip Laugharne found herself on the score sheet yet again, after some sustained pressure Bridget Radice made it four, however the Turkish players did not give up and scored another breakaway goal
Final score Penarth 4, Cankaya 2.

Day 2 (Match 1)
Penarth v HK Zrinjevac
This was to be the toughest pool game against the favourites Zrinjevac  who had already won both previous matches.

The early exchanges the Welsh girls matched them being unfortunate not to take the lead having some very good shots at goal bringing out some excellent saves from the Zrinjevac keeper. Some very quick passes brought about a few openings and Penarth found themselves 3:0 at half time.

The Welsh girls were still in the game and reduced the deficit with a well taken goal from Bridget Radice, but the clinical finishing of Zrijevac saw them run out 9:1 winners

Day 2 (Match 2)
Penarth v HK Triglav Predanovci
This was a game that Penarth needed to win and met the 4th placed team from pool B Triglav (Slo). From early pressure they found themselves in front from a well taken goal from Pip Laugharne. Determined not to allow Triglav any opportunity it was a well disciplined Welsh team that took control of the game.

This pattern continued in second half with the defence dealing with a number of threats with Angela Ninian needing to bring off a few important saves. Penarth rounded off a controlled performance when Pip Laugharne rounded the keeper for her second of the match. Final score Penarth 2, Triglav 0.
