Wales Women v Russia

12th July 2007
The preparation for the Senior Women’s Celtic Cup in NEWI, July 21st – 23rd and the European Championships Challenge in Croatia, September 1st – 8th, where we are hoping to gain promotion to the Trophy for 2009, is going well. We are about to have a testing weekend of matches against our training partner, Russia, this weekend at WIS, July 14th & 15th. These matches (which both start at 14:00) will certainly be challenging for both teams with differing styles and formations to deal with.

With Sarah Thomas back in the squad from her experiences and performances in Rotterdam we will certainly be leading from the front - especially with the possibility of Emma Winch, Carys Hopkins and Kayleigh Humphries to play along side her. All our key players will be active this weekend which will only consolidate their progression for their forthcoming tournaments.
