This is an FIH driven activity to promote and develop hockey across the World. Every participating nation organizes an event on the same date every year in order to raise the profile of our sport. This year’s Global Marathon will be held on 12th/13th May 2007, and the theme will be released by the FIH over the next few weeks. Clubs are invited to take part in our event(s), or to come up with an event of their own to fit the theme, and feedback a report on their initiative. This could be a great way of ending your season on a high.

GLOBAL MARATHON 2006
This year’s GM was held on 13th & 14th May, and was based on the theme ‘hockey – a sport for everybody’.

The Global Marathon is an initiative coordinated globally by the FIH therefore all participating nations organized a variety of events over the same weekend.

WHUL supported this event by organizing regional events.
