2006 Summer Hockey Camp a Roaring Success!
With the sun shining, and the players eagerly looking forward to
learning new skills and techniques, it was a recipe for success as we
enjoyed 3 fantastic days of hockey at this year’s Summer Camp, held at
Swansea University.
The Camp, which ran during 1st – 3rd August, was attended by over 70
players, aged 11-16 years, from all over Wales and beyond. The coaching
was provided by our very own Youth Hockey Activators, and supported by
our Development Officers and senior staff. The sessions included a wide
variety of skills and techniques of the game, strategies, fitness and
conditioning, small sided games and the players also took part in a
tournament on the final day. There was also plenty of time for the
players to relax and take part in fun teambuilding activities in the
evenings.
Welsh Hockey would like to thank Swansea University for their support
and cooperation in ensuring the smooth-running and success of the camp,
and also the staff and Activators
who worked extremely hard to ensure the enjoyment of the players.
The Summer Hockey Camp is designed to cater for players of all
abilities, and provides a fantastic means for youngsters to develop
their hockey skills in a fun, safe and social environment. Information
on next year’s camp will appear on the development pages of the website
in due course. Alternatively, to receive information via e-mail please
