Slazenger EHL - Whitchurch win 5-1 at Ipswich
Whitchurch hit their best form of the season to gain a stunning 5-1 win at Ipswich in the Slazenger EHL. Whitchurch defended well and attacked at pace in a fine all-round team performance with Laith El Khatib in great form in attack and Kam-Yin Boey impressing in defence in his first match of the season. Keir Dixon put Ipswich ahead after 20 minutes from a penalty corner but Whitchurch deservedly equalised five minutes later with a fine individual goal from Graeme Egan, who beat two defenders on the edge of the circle before crashing the ball into the net. Whitchurch missed a penalty stroke before half-time and another in the second period but there was no stopping the Whitchurch attack as their second half dominance brought further goals from Laith El Khatib (2), James Bainbridge and Tom Fisher.

Next up for Whitchurch is the visit of unbeaten table-topping Oxted this coming Saturday (1.30 at Welsh Institute of Sport) whilst on Sunday they take on UW Aberystwyth in the first round of the Welsh Cup (2.30 at Whitchurch High School).
