WALES SENIOR HOCKEY ACADEMY
In partnership with Sports Council for Wales (through Elite Cymru), WHU
runs the Senior Academy for selected athletes that show potential for
excellence.Athletes are provided with top quality support within a
framework that provides the opportunity for them to succeed at the
highest level.
Although the program is based at WIS in Cardiff, athletes participate
in decentralised programs in North Wales and England
The criteria for selection to the Senior Academy are;

Once selected, in addition to specialist individual and group hockey

The Academy was established in 2001 and since it’s inception has been
very successful in developing players through to Wales Senior and Great
Britain squads.
