COMPETITIONS: 2007/8

RAF WELSH YOUTH FINALS 2007/08

This was the first season that all boys and girls competitions were played together over the same weekend. In fact it was the first season where there was an Under 11 girls National Final and an Under 13 girls National Final. In honour of this the Newtown microclimate struck again and, in total contrast to last season, the temperatures throughout the weekend were approaching the 30°C mark.

Saturday kicked off with the Girls Under 15 final where Whitchurch Saints, from the South, took on Welshpool, from the North. In a closely competed game Whitchurch came out on top with a 5 - 0 win. However, the RAF player of the match was awarded to Lucy Davies from Welshpool.

This game was followed by the U11 Girls Final and the cup was competed for by Whitchurch, Newport and Dysynni. Following a round robin of games and having beaten both other teams the cup went to Whitchurch Saints. RAF Player of the Tournament went to Nia Davies.

On behalf of everyone who took part thanks should go to our Sponsors, The RAF, all the Umpires and Officials that took part, the WHU representatives and the staff at Maldwyn Leisure Centre. Everyone who came up had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.
