Day 1: Friday 25 June 2010
Wales opened their Celtic Cup tournament with a 1-0 victory over their French hosts. The game got off to a slow start with both teams trying to find their touch. In the 21' following a good passage of passing play wales won their first short corner which Rufas MacNaught- Barrington converted to give them a 1-0 lead. Wales then settled and started to play and string passes together with the French side unable to win a penalty corner until the 27' which was well saved by Iwan Williams in goal.
In the second half Wales looked to increase their lead and in the 46' a well worked move between Joe Naughalty, Andy Cornick and MacNaught-Barrington resulted in a fine save by the keeper. Wales continued to strive for the winning goal and had several near misses. In the last 5 minutes Wales earned a second short corner which was cleared by the French defence.
With a final score of 1-0, the squad felt that it was a good start with some area's for improvement to be worked on.

Day 2: Saturday 26 June 2010
After their opening day victory, Wales played Ireland and despite having a number of scoring chances ran out the wrong side of a 0-4 defeat. In a match played at a high tempo pace Wales went behind after just 8' when Timmy Cockram's shot on goal was stopped illegally providing captain Ronan Gormley with the chance to put his country ahead, which he duly did with his penalty stroke. It was only 9' later when Ireland doubled their lead when Mitch Darling swiveled on the ball at the edge of the circle and crossed in for a sliding deflection by Gormley to score his brace. Wales had their first scoring opportunity in the 32' when they won a penalty corner which produced an outstanding save from Iain Walker in goals. After half time Ireland only waited 30 seconds to extend their lead when Paul Gleghorne showed his attacking prowess shooting home from close range making it 3-0 to Ireland. Ireland copper plated their victory in the 68' when Peter Caruth shot home from a narrow angle after a second phase of a penalty corner. Wales still have a chance of taking 2nd place in the tournament tomorrow.

Wales overcame Scotland 3-2 in a tight game to ensure they finished 2nd in the tournament. With both teams starting the game in high intensity. it was Scotland who gained the first short corner but Williams in the Welsh goal made a fine save to deny them the lead. Wales then earned a penalty corner in the 16th minute which MacNaught-Barrington converted to give Wales the half time lead.
In the 37' Naughalty doubled the Welsh lead with a good move but the Scots then gained a controversial short corner from which they scored. Wales then had a golden opportunity to add a third goal from a well worked short corner but the shot went wide. However Wales then went on to score their third when Owain Dolan-Grey finished off a cutting move by the rampant Welsh forwards with the Ccots then scoring in the 67' after a mistake in the Welsh defence.
