Ladies Vets team announced for Combined Services tournament
A Vets team has been compiled from various age groups to play in Aldershot on 15th and 16th May. The team will face sides of Combined Services, Combined Services Vets, Police, Civil Services and England Vets. They are playing in this tournament in preparation for the age group matches in Wrexham which will be held in June.

North Wales Cup Final Results
An excellent weekend's hockey saw the region's two top teams share the trophies on offer. Northop Hall won both the League and the Shield competitions beating Bangor University in the League 8-1 and Wrexham 2s in the Shield 4-3 in the closest game of the weekend.
Swansea Ladies still in the race
Following their 0-0 draw at Southgate in the first of the Women's English National League relegation play-off matches, Swansea went one better against Sheffield Hallam in winning 2-1 with a brace of goals from Katrin Budd. All now rests on the outcome of the Sheffield v Southgate match to see if Swansea can retain their place in the Conference West next season.

World Cup Qualifiers Kazan, Russia. Day 6: Italy 1 – Wales 0
The opening five minutes was frenetic hockey - end to end play. Both teams looking hard for their last win of the tournament. For Wales, it was important to finish on a successful note.

World Cup Qualifiers Kazan, Russia. Day 5: Belarus 4 – Wales 1
The game was identified as a key match for Wales. Win and we were playing for 3rd and 4th place. Lose and a very early start to play on Sunday!

World Cup Qualifiers Kazan, Russia. Day 4: Wales 2 – Russia 1
Russia needed a victory to keep their chances open for a spot in Sunday's final. The hosts tried to put Wales under pressure but Wales took the match and Russia lost their chance to play in the final.

BDO Women's World Cup Qualifiers (Kazan, Russia) Day 3: Azerbaijan 1 – Wales 0
Azerbaijan needed to win this encounter to hold on to any chance of a spot in Sunday's final. The first half was a very quite one with the game being mostly played in midfield with few opportunities for either side.
South Wales Club Youth Finals
The South Wales Youth Hockey Finals kicked off on Sunday 18th April with both pitches covered in mist that had rolled in from the sea down at Swansea.

After Italy lost against Russia yesterday, they really needed to beat Wales today to play an important role in this tournament. The Italian team started very nervous into the game while Wales started very organised and well-structured.

Welsh Panthers knock Jaguars for six
Four goals from Andy Cornick helped underpin Celtic Panthers' first victory of this year’s GreatBritain Super League, beating the Highland Jaguars 6-3 at Peffermill Playing Fields in Edinburgh on Sunday.

BDO Women's World Cup Qualifiers (Kazan, Russia) Day 1: Wales 1 – Japan 4
Wales and Japan opened the tournament at 13.00 in warm, bright sunshine. Despite excellent preparation and a clear understanding of the game plan, Wales were under pressure from the opening moments of the game.

Panthers Fall Short in GB Super League
Most of the Panthers team beat the Volcanic Cloud to line up against the Cougars at Peffermil today. In a very closely contested match there was very little difference in the amount of possession and territory.

Great Britain Super League rocks in Edinburgh
The Great Britain Super League second weekend at Peffermill, Edinburgh will take place with work-a-round solutions having been found to beat the transportation disruption. The Celtic Panthers compete against the Caledonian Cougars at 13:00 on Saturday and Highland Jaguars at the same time on Sunday. They will need to play well to counter a confident Scottish challenge as well as the home crowd. Manager Naz Mohammed reported: 'James Hughes is stranded in Paris, but all other players and staff should make the trip'.

Mark Whatling player of the Tournament
Mark Whatling from Glamorgan University collected the player of the tournament trophy at the Inter-Universities Home Nations event that concluded yesterday.
Welsh Universities Men win Home Nations title
In beating N Ireland 1-0, Scotland 3-2 and England 3-2, Wales took home the honours in the BUCS Home Nations held in Edinburgh. The Women’s team did not fare as well in losing to England 0-3, N Ireland 0-9 and drawing with Scotland 0-0.

Sarah Thomas in GB line up against Olympic silver medallists
Penalty corners proved the difference between Great Britain and China in the first test at Bisham Abbey on Wednesday afternoon as China came out 2-1 on top, scoring both of their corners while Great Britain netted one of their six.

Level 3 Workshops
The Level 3 workshops that WHU will be running this summer have now been organised. The workshops are suitable for all Level 2 or Level 3 qualified coaches (or equivalent) and are compulsory for coaches wishing to complete the UKCC Level 3 award. There are two workshops to be arranged and details of these will be released ASAP. Candidates should complete the application form on the web and return to Vicki Kovacs at the WHU office. Early applications are encouraged as these will be popular. Closing date for applications is Friday 30th April.

Wales Under-18 Girls show metal in Scotland
Wales U18 Girls showed some metal during their recent vist to Scotland to complete their first international duties of the year. Honours were even over the 3 games, but it was great to see the squad bounce back from an early defeat to taste victory on day 2.

Wales take the initiative
Wales had an excellent first half against Scotland, opening the scoring through Leah Wilkinsons deflected PC and maintaining high tempo throughout. Wales were without captain Carys Hopkins, nevertheless, the team set about their task with energy and purpose.

Wales were under the cosh for most of their opening match at Bisham Abbey. In spite of the
